UML & CORBA

Can anyone recommend some stuff to read on these two? Preferably 
web-based (initially, until I decide if I want to use them seriously), 
and something that a beginner can ease into ok, but which covers the 
entirety of the subjects.

I know about the Rational and OMG sites already - does anyone know of any 
other information sources?

Also, if anyone has read the "UML Distilled" book, I'd appreciate an 
opinion on it.
