Salutations!

Announcing the availability of SlashMUD server.

SlashMUD is an Open Source, fully object-oriented MacOS hosted MUD server
that is currently in the final stages of development.

SlashMUD is loosely based on the LP type of MUD, but has been designed
and coded from the ground up to be fast and extensible. It is fully
compiled (rather than interpreting a pseudo-programming language), uses a
simple plain text format for storing data and runs as a native
background-only application on PowerPC based Macintoshes, under either
MacTCP or OpenTransport. It can be run on a standalone Mac for testing
purposes.

SlashMUD supports PluginThings, PluginWeapons, PluginRaces, PluginGuilds,
PluginRooms, PluginSkills and PluginMonsters. Plugins are CFM fragments
(shared libraries) that allow programmers to create objects in C, C++,
Pascal or Object Pascal for use with the SlashMUD server.

Anyone interesting in contributing to the development of SlashMUD is
invited to visit the SlashMUD web site:

Regards,
Koryn
