> I have news for you, this is how the real world works.
Classic. "Things stink, so I'll just contribute to the stink."
>Not to turn this into a flame war, but to bring this back, again, to the
>game/entertainment concept, we take the same view when we have to 'run'
>something, be it a server, game, movie house, or whatnot. You do what is
>required, be it wrong, right, or some fuzzy gray area in the middle. Then
>you tell everyone you did right, regardless. They're happy, you're happy,
>and the game goes on - really, that's what's important.
Another classic. "The ends justify the means."
Everyone manages their interactions with other people. Not everyone
is ready to hear the absolute truth about a given topic - especially
when their personal world view doesn't easily accomodate that truth.
Blatant manipulation of players is something else, especially when
applied to obnoxious children. If you choose to make your business
involve any venture that deals with children, you better be ready to
act like a parent. If at any time you think that you know more about
something than somebody else, you better be ready to act like a school
teacher.
Any Christians here? Golden Rule? "All I really needed to know I
learned in kindergarten"? Or that just for idealistic children? And
popes, nuns, priests and other such 'designated idealists'?
