We started keeping records a little over a year ago when the
population did the first dip (50% of normal for 3 months). This is the
record to date since then. (Note this is guest and visitor logins, and
does not count officer or support staff logins.)

So far it's been a downward trend with no bottom in sight (although
in theory, I suppose '0' is possible...). This has caused a vicious
circle to develop, where the cast members note the trend and then don't
feel like showing up to do anything, since there's no audience, and so
when the potential audience pops in, they don't see anyone around, and
immediately leave. Or they enter the "magic circle" - character
creation, die to a city guard, go linkdead - in under 3 minutes.
