http://www.imaginary.com/ has alot of good information.
While I have never written a mudlib, I am a wiz on a LPC mud, in Oz
no less. :) We have quite a few players from monash. It depends what
you want in the mudlib. I have heard from people much wiser than me
say that if you want to learn join an existing mud and help out there.
We are at http://shattered.org/ or telnet://shattered.org port 23 .
The mud is hosted at RMIT.

The Shattered World mudlib is at http://shattered.org/~geoff/ .
Tho, it's a mini mudlib, but there is a link somewhere to dl some
additional features. Usually Dredd has people take a test to become
a wiz, but we let just about anyone get "training wheels". Which allows you
to read our hideously outdated docs, and look at some of the code.

PS I'm sure the rest of our Wizzes would like to hear a critique of our mud.
Although, we are "newbie friendly" attitude wise, game wise we are not.
