[MUD-Dev] Hobby Muds and Money

Howdie,

Are there any games out there that are run by hobbyists, however that do
bring in the necessary money to pay for the internet connection/eletricity
and such?

How is that to be done?
- pay for being a god
- pay for having special items
- pay for a tshirt with the MUDs name/logo on it
- pay for having a statue
- free donations/gifts

The first item: pay for being a god, how do you prevent abuse. Are there
contracts that people need to sign? And if so, is it okay to have such a
written down and signed understanding without actually being a BigBodied
Company?
