Well, community also requires communication links.  For small
communities the grapvine is adequate, but larger/wider spread
communities need other means.  Online, sub-communities are more often
defined *by* those links, IMHO.  The over-arcing EQ community is
composed of subcommunities mostly centering on message boards, for
example (that includes most guilds).
