I think it won't be long before hardware support for encrypted
sessions becomes more common in ethernet cards. There are a number
already available (3Com makes one) that provide support for IPSec,
and I believe IPSec support is built directly into IPv6. It
wouldn't surprise me if they didn't also provide hardware support
for ssh, given how common it is, and if not, they will soon.
