You also have the fairly early MariMUSE and the graphical
ExploreNet. Then you have several educational Active Worlds efforts.

And there are lots of educational MOOs, although I'm not exactly
sure what they have actually achieved.  What exactly came out of
MOOSE Crossing for instance?

I somehow feel that the main MOO attraction has been "playing with
text"/"speech acts", hyped up by a countless number of
semi-sensational/academic lit/psych papers, which probably nurtured
some utopian dreams...  (read: shared lies)
