I think those qualifications are obvious enough that I don't have to
write them. "The average individual who is interested in making a
significant investment of time and money in a fantasy game wherein
he plays the role of a separate person would generally like that
person to have superior talents to his own in most areas, excepting

as a challenge in avenues he wishes to explore and of which he would
like to further develop his understanding" is a tedious and
uninformative sentence which is much more likely to be read if it
just says "People want to be better in the game than real
life". Same thing, really, except that one of those sentences is
*perfectly* correct while the other is only *mostly* correct. I
think "mostly" correct is generally good enough for informal
conversations.
