On the other hand, a common result from loss aversion is that poeple
who are risk-averse over wins are risk-loving over losses. So if a
loss averse person is given a choice between a certain smallish loss
and a chance of a bigger loss, they're likely to gamble on the bigger
loss.
I'm not really sure what the implications of this for pd
are. Typically, the gambles one's looking at in games are a chance of
gaining and a chance of losing, not two chances of losing. But loss
aversion might predict that if the choice of risking pd is put against
a high chance of some bad-but-less-so thing, you'd get more people
risking pd.
