Not that it would ever happen, but I think it would be interesting
for the companies themselves to run Yee-like surveys every six
months, and compare data the way Yee does. It would be fascinating
to see how a 'true' study would compare to the Yee studies.
I don't like the way he does his sampling -- it bothers me that if
you did not read Everlore over a specific weekend, that you were
excluded from the poll. What percentage of players read Everlore,
and what "player type" are they? Surely they are more hardcore than
your 'average' player. Because of this, the data will be skewed in
favor of hard-core players.
What struck me as amazing was the absolutely humongous numbers of
people who had multiple accounts. Do you suppose that is a "true"
number, or evidence of a bad sample?
