If downtime equates being inactive then it will merely make players
do something else. E.g. if you have to wait for ten r.l. minutes to
regenerate your health while your character is basically asleep and
thus unable to do anything, then this will not lead to socialisa-
tion in any way or form. There must be socialisation possible *AND*
it must be meaningful to the player. It is in part culture on one
particular game, but it also a matter of balancing and offering the
players other activities that are not directly part of the primary
goal of the game.
