Not only do you have to start from scratch, but lets not forget that
UO and EQ have a huge head start on features than the rest of the
games out there. You're not just competing with EverQuest, you're
competing with EverQuest, all the bug fixes they've done, all the
patches they've provided and all of the expansions they've shipped.
Same with UO.
Going into this battle with just a 'graphics vs gameplay' is a
dangerous bet, because most of these guys know that this is a place
you live, and ultimately gameplay has to win. Newcomers on the
market have to offer a unique selling proposition in order to offer
a new promise.
