Korean Game Provider Ncsoft Drops Everquest, Shining Lore
SEOUL, Nov 12 Asia Pulse - Leading South Korean online game
provider NCsoft Corp. said today it will take two online game
services off the market as part of its business realignment
  efforts.

The demise of the two games, Everquest and Shining Lore, will
inflict developing and marketing losses of some 20 billion won
(US$17 million) on the Seoul-based company.

"The losses will be reflected in our four-quarter balance sheet,"
said an NCsoft spokesman. "We were trying to keep the two games
running but developers think gamers are less enthusiastic."

He added that the company would cease services of the multiplayer
games by the end of the year.

NCsoft is also the provider of "Lineage," the world's most
  successful online game.

Did it never really take off in Korea then?
