I couldn't figure out their unique selling point when I browsed
their web site. (They may have had one that I missed... other than
troll-slayers with orange mowhawks.) Without a good USP, even if
they succeded in a release, they wouldn't be able to differentiate
themselves them from their competitors. This makes survival much
more difficult, since the game can't rely upon the USP to keep
players around after their 30-day trial.

Note: I cannot identify a signficant USP in most of the 100+ MMORPGs
out there; Warhammer Online is/was not alone in this respect.

For example: Some USP's that I perceive loud and clear:

  - AC2 - Evolving world story (and not much else unique)

  - City of heroes - Superheros

  - Dark age of camelot - RvR. (Not a USP for long since the
majority of new MMORPGs seem to be implimenting RvR.)

  - EQ II - Flashy graphics and voice recordings.

  - Guild wars - Entirely downloadable

  - Middle Earth Online - Middle earth (and not much else unique)

  - Reclamation - Unique setting and lots of role playing.

  - Star Wars Galaxies - Star wars and non-violent trades

  - A tale in the desert - Non-violent game

  - Uru Live - Online adventure game and unique setting. (Now dead)

There are probably another half dozen MMORPGs where I can perceive a
USP. The rest are lacking, or they buried their USP so deeply in
their web site that I can't find it.
