Hmm, I'd like to point out Ansible MOOs battleroom system. It by no
means perfect, and was designed as more or less an aid to RP, but I
think it would help give you ideas on how to setup such a
system. The site is located at ansible.foomoo.org:6000.

Also, Pueblo/UE has a very interesting way to implement this. You
can find info on the client at pueblo.sf.net and a game that
implements it very well at angelic.usagimimi.com:7705. The Pueblo
client allows VRML and HTML to be used in the game, although it can
be hard to implement these in-game.
