ATITD does not have computer controlled merchants at my last
recollection. I've not looked at the latest build so it could have changed.
On your duping point -- I can't speak with any authority, but the only
way I can think stacking adds to the power of duping is that you are
duping multiple objects (the stack) in one go. Beyond that the process
(duping any object) is the same unless there is an anomaly to exploit on
a specific object due to it's design.
As to your larger question of how to implement a currency system -- you
have already stated that the engine does not know what Hit Points are
(another item that stacks and goes up and down depending on
circumstance). How did you achieve that? Can it translate at all into
currency (hit points of a different sort...)?
Just some thoughts!
