The downside to Multiverse is that they have a lock-in license if you
use it for commercial use (free for non-com), but other than that, you
may find that they're more organized:

Under the covers, their graphics engine is a layer on top of Ogre3D --
which is the same engine that Ember is using.  However, I think their
server is java based, and if you don't want java, it probably isn't
going to suit your purposes.
