I would say something like pikemen, or halberdiers, or even a phalanx (but
that is more a formation than an actual class name, and more suited for
pike/spear type weapons than bladed polearms.). You could also call them
hoplites as these where men who http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoplite, but
this name is more for a classical era type setting. So I would use a class
name depending on the style of your system. (Pikeman, or Halberdier if you
go for a middle age standard fantasy setting, or hoplite if you go for a
greek style classical age setting).

Don't know anything for this one. Only marksman springs to mind. But that is
more of a firearms specialist. But of course the name of the classes isn't
important, only the way you tell the players what the capabilities of the
classes are. (Names do help of course ;) ).
