well i am back again with opensim. i didnt write it but there are many people still working on it. i am still going through mischiefworks.net to find there right way of formatting the web but i know i want to be somewhere between second life and eqemu.? but it doesnt matter since opensim is the backbone and everything else can be built on top of it. right now it work like second life.
?
there is a client called hippo that is open source. the client can support sl, opensim, and anything else that follows it protocols. best of all, it can be changed.? there is realXtend that is open source too but i dont know that much about it; also realXtend has been added to the server in opensim.? realXtend uses the OGRE engine.
?
there in opensim. it is fully functional (with errors of course ) to sl. it now includes hypergrids where people from all over can be?in a?grid. the has a potential.
?
there is eqemu.? most of the stuff is for everquest-related stuff but there is an open project (well semi-open) that?has a new client?and you can add new NPCs and stuff. the eqemu project is separate from opensim.
?
there is all sort of new things coming -- and none of them work with anything else. instead we could be working for hypergrids all over the place. i am the only one that think so? i believe i am not.? but dont invent new way until the only way are tried.? i mean EQ is a mud plain and simple.? you can take the mud part out and put a new interface. sl is a real world -- although a boring one for me. but is there and opensim is there to help you.? and with hypergrids there is a possiblity with you can put croquet, darkstar, and and anything inside the hypergrid.
?
i know there are people out there that want this too.? i am old and had a stroke ?so i cant do much but i will help when ever i can.
?
right now there is http://forums.mischiefworks.net and that is a start.? the rest of mischiefworks.net i am still working out.
