If you have any connections that would review the game and put it on
popular gaming blogs that is a good start.
It seems to me that indie developers don't get to have big shows to
announce new games. You don't have the PR resources that EA and others
have behind them. So announce might be as simple as putting it on your
website and buying some well targeted ads on  Facebook.
If you can get your release announcement where gamers can see it, that
seems like the best thing. As to the how, I don't really know.
