I have faced this issue with Melville, which contains a few
dozen lines of Dworkin's code from the native mudlib you used
to get with the driver. My solution has been to require that
users have a DGD commercial license.
This may be a non-issue since I have only had one inquiry about
a commercial Melville license and it wasn't pursued. Then again,
Melville is code that's meant to show you how to write your own
code, so it's not surprising that I haven't had many commerical
inquiries. If someone had something that was intended to be used
in a stand-alone setting, there might be more.
I should perhaps quickly note that Melville is -not- public domain,
although for non-commercial use the license is quite generous.
