Correct, actually, you may want to take measures to deal with player
objects when restoring a state dump.
(I don't, I just deal with the user objects, its fun to find yourself
'linkdead' after a reboot ;)

I use a database for keeping track of player stats, and configure a player
object based on it, but you can do the same using a simple
save/restore_object.
