We are aware of that, you have mentioned this 'a few' times before. I'm not
going to make this thing (at least for now), deal with it.

Since you aren't maintaining it to begin with I don't see how this is your
worry. Beyond that, all changes to the network package I have made since the
initial port to dgd 1.2.118 concern functional enhancements and bugfixes to
the network package itself, nothing was needed to keep up with dgd, so I am
not too worried about this. MP is another thing, I'll see what I am going to
do with that when I start having a need for it.

Beyond that, I think we went through this discussion at least a dozen times in
the last decade or so, could you be so nice to do one of 3 things:

- drop it
- add something new to the discussion
- make your case by doing what you suggest
