My purpose on this list is at least twofold: to keep an eye on
what other people are doing in the field (since as a distribution
maintainer I feel it my duty to remain educated), and there's also
some vague hope that something said on this list will provide
inspiration.

I'm from a MUSH background (I'm one of the PennMUSH maintainers),
but I've dabbled in LP, and at least glanced at Diku, MOO, MUCK,
Unter, Cold, etc. Professionally I'm working on a proprietary
not-quite-mud used for corporate education.

Sure. Code in itself is an artform worthy of inspection and
commentary, so samples are cool. Questions about specific
codebases might also give me the impetus to pull my head out
of the sand and actually look at something new.

I'm too egotistical to be intimidated. ;-) I enjoy chatting about
the theory... it's not something that I get to do all that often.
However, that's not to say that the only thing we should talk about
is theory.
