This ia very old idea. I think that JCL is doing something of the sort in
his mud, and I believe that the HEAT.NET game 10six (more of a combat tank
game thing than a mud) also does this. Verant's Sovereign has also announced
plans to do something similar in the context of a real-time strategy game.
