I don't think NT allows it. (In fact, I have grave doubts that NT
has allowed this even as far back as v3.51, but I haven't actually
checked.)  Theoretically, this would mean Windows XP wouldn't allow
it either.

Since I don't particularly care enough to experiment, though, I
could very well be wrong.
