I have been known to stick to what I know.  This thread has been
enlightening and I would love to see concrete evidence of your method.
I am pretty scientific by nature and thus need it proven to me most of
the time.  Because my experience lies primarily with RDBMs, I plan on
using one of those behind my server. It would be interesting to come
back in a year and compare performance numbers as best as possible,
discuss the backup and restore realities, and in general banter the
ideas around again in an effort to come to a better defined
conclusion.  It truly is an exciting time to be in MUD
programming. (that is for us geeky types)
