[MUD-Dev] Paying Volunteers Update?

When the long thread about paying volunteers was circulating, I missed
the last few posts.  Was a decision ever made on whether or not to
make companies pay their volunteers?  Or was there a set of guidelines
published?  If not, does anyone know the current status of the issue?
