Interesting solution. At first glance I don't see any significant
technical issues with this, but with client-side data storage you
run the risk of data loss/corruption while offline. Players who lose
their characters due to a hard disk crash or viral attack may give
up on the game entirely. That could make customer retention quite
challenging.
