With all this talk of caching, data source pooling, persistence,
transactions, and so on, it seems to me that Enterprise JavaBeans
might be a good solution if you know how to do it, and have a decent
application server.  You're already writing in Java.  Why reinvent
the wheel?

Just a thought.
