Introverted doesn't mean casual. They are two completely different
things. Also, just wanting to play by yourself doesn't make you
introverted. Maybe a better word should be used to avoid
confusion. Introspective? One who looks inwards to solve
problems. When faced with a question, he tries to answer it. If he
can't, then he seeks the knowledge that will allow him to - even if
it would be easier and quicker just to ask someone else who already
knows.
Introspective behavior is, by definition, introverted. However, it
describes the cause (motivation) and not the effect. Maybe that will
clear it up a bit as to why introspective people can find a very
important place in society without contributing to it in a direct
social manner.
