[DGD] melville with dgd for win binary

Hello,

I have recently installed the compiled binary of dgd v1.2p2 for windows. It runs ok with the minimal mudlib provided. 
Now I tried to setup melville mudlib and it doesn't work. I tried melville v0.9.1 and v0.8 . My main problem is that the driver dies silently, without giving any notice about what choked him, so I have no chance to change the melville-code as needed. 

So my questions are:
Is there a way to persuade the driver to be more outspoken, give me error messages or a log file? Is there a debug mode I can switch on?
Do you know what to change on melville to make it run with v1.2p2 dgd? 

Even if there is a simple change on melville to make it run I would prefer the first solution, since I would perhaps make other changes to the mudlib and like to have error reports.
