Shockingly, it's not just the executives that are out of touch. I
also got sick of the award show. A few days later, I was watching
G4TV, the game cable channel. On one of their shows, the two pundits
were lauding how great the SpikeTV award show was, how much they
enjoyed it, and that it was good to see celebrities standing up for
their video games [especially the ones who didn't appear at all
convincing that they even knew what a console was]. You'd think
that 2 hosts of a show aimed at the dedicated gamer [who else would
watch a cable channel about video/computer games?] would have a
better feel for the pulse of the industry and of their
audience. That means that either they were out of touch, or those of
us appalled at the show are out of touch. Anyone feel that the show
was aimed at the [and our?] target audience?

If I'm out of touch, please don't let them touch me!
