A rather subtle aspect of .hack//SIGN that I noticed, is the fact
that the main characters rarely encounter other players unless they
actively plan to meet them.  It really hearkens to the fact that in
most MMOs, you rarely interact with other players unless they're
your friends or guildmates.

Also interesting, is how the series most resembles EQ, while the
most popular games in Asia are top-down PvP games such as UO or
Lineage.
